Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

responsible for complete, timely and qualitative execution of Accounting Operations for General Ledger according to defined activity split and in line with German GAAP (HGB)
conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly closing and reporting activities including local books
reconcile balance sheet accounts (group and local)
performs account monitoring
oversees and performs all manual journal entries
responsible for supporting the preparation of the Financial Statements in accordance with BKA/IFRS and Bayer Group internal steering purposes and according to the country specific legislation allowing a certification by external auditors
handling judgment based activities and support other dealing with it
implementing adjustments to local accounting rules to be in line with Groupe guidelines
assesses and analyzes relevant accounting issues, consults with respective local and global functions and with internal/external auditors if required to drive timely financial impact recording in appropriate accounting period
evaluating the impact on financial statements and on the accounting operating model in particular of projects driven by divisions and functions.
interact with key business functions (e.g. Accounting Business Partner, Controlling, Procurement, Product Supply, etc.) to ensure proper accounting for the particular areas of operation.
interact with internal and external auditors ensuring prompt response to audit requests.
documenting and monitoring internal controls.
act as a Key User for specific area or tools (e.g. Closing, Reporting, GL).
prepare and conduct process specific trainings.
creation and update of SD.
continuously increasing quality in daily tasks and looking for improvements.
support local projects such as legal entity and system mergers, acquisitions or divestitures.

Who You Are:

Very good German and English language skills
University degree preferable in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
3 + years of experience in accounting, controlling or similar.
Profound knowledge of general accounting, IFRS and German GAAP.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (esp. MS Excel).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Dedication and accuracy, strong organizational skills, ability to make decisions, and eager to learn;
Motivation, communication, teamwork and ability to operate in a highly intercultural environment.
Intermediate in SAP or other ERP system
