This position is based in Gdansk, with hybrid working available
Do you want to use your tax knowledge to develop some of the most powerful tax software on the market? If so this position as a Tax Research Lead might be the role for you.
The Tax Research Lead is responsible for overseeing a highly effective tax research function that delivers accurate enhancements and updates our leading tax software's offering (ONESOURCE™). By leading this function, you'll ensure that our customers know they're paying the right amount of tax when they process global transactions.
About the Role
In this position as Tax Research Lead at Thomson Reuters, you will:
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all processes and procedures for our high-quality content releases.
  • Develop and coach junior team members whilst managing performance across the team.
  • Assign and delegate work to colleagues across the team, ensuring that we're meeting deadlines and scheduled targets.
  • Participate in our internal performance management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate and discuss tax concepts with both tax professionals as those that don't work in a tax-focused role. We're looking for a great communicator that can explain complex initiatives to those who aren't experts in tax.
  • Lead content projects which include planning and estimates, resourcing, detailed design requirements, implementation and rigorous quality assurance. As part of the team, you'll also be a key stakeholder in assigning team tasks, tracking and monitor progress and reporting on project statuses.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Tax Research Lead if you:
  • Have demonstrable experience of working in an indirect tax focused role.
  • Are comfortable leading a high performing and inclusive team.
  • Have excellent knowledge and deep understanding of Indirect Tax rules and regulations that impact tax calculation and compliance. You'll be given the opportunity to use your analytical skills to their full potential to determine the accurate tax decision with appropriate legal support needed for our customers.
  • Have the ability to handle complex tax content projects in a multi-tasking environment, perform research, meet strict content deadlines within budgets.
  • Ability to put the customer at the center of content activities and decision-making, from supporting a tax jurisdiction legislation change to content implementation and delivery
  • Written and spoken fluency in English. If you can speak any additional languages to English, we'd love to know more about this on your application.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%
