In conjunction with continuous organic growth Vard Marine Gdańsk is looking for Candidates to join our growing Team in a capacity of Senior or Mid-Level Marine HVAC Engineer.
Duties and responsibilities
As a member of the Team, you will participate in various projects from concept and basic phase, through class design, till detailed engineering and follow up.

As a member of the Team, you will participate in various projects from concept and basic phase, through class design, till detailed engineering and follow up.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Prepare engineering calculations using empirical formulae from Classification Regulations as well as first principles
- Prepare ships HVAC systems packages (diagrams, arrangements, and calculations) according to industry standards and recognized marine standard criteria
- Prepare ships auxiliary machinery systems packages (diagrams, arrangements, and calculations) for submission to Classification Societies for review and approval
- Prepare equipment procurement and installation technical specifications
- Prepare testing and commissioning specifications and procedures
- Support construction, commissioning, testing and field reviews
- Review and evaluation of vendor supplied information from a technical perspective
- Prepare engineering cost estimates within discipline as required to support department initiatives and business development
- Perform design checks and reviews to meet quality control and assurance requirements
Qualifications
- Recognized post-secondary education such as electrical engineering degree, diploma or similar
- Have an applied knowledge of marine engineering and ship systems to ensure the functionality of the equipment required for various vessel types (i.e. passenger, cargo, naval, science, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of Classification Society Rules, International Convention and Codes, and Flag States Regulations associated with statutory safety requirements
- Be cognizant of certain aspects of the management of a project, including, but not limited to, the following: establishing realistic working budgets, deliverable deadlines, priorities, and coordination of project schedules
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills; Liaise with Clients and build trusting relationships both internal to the company and external.
- Fluent in written and verbal English and Polish with excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Polish Citizen or Permanent Resident
