Thomson Reuters is looking for a Credit Controller with German language to join our team in Gdansk, Poland.
Credit Controllers are members of a Customer’s Support team and part of the Customer-to-Cash organization. Advocates for customers, they are the single point-of-contact for external and internal customers, ensuring each one’s back-office needs are properly translated, understood and carried out.  This role is a tireless champion for our customers delivering the best possible experience with every contact.
Specialists in order-to-cash processes, Credit Controllers are obsessed with their customers and liaise with sister groups like Billing, Cash Applications and Order Management to ensure both requests and complaints are identified, communicated, tracked and fulfilled quickly and accurately assuring the timely payment of TR’s accounts receivable.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Credit Controller, you will:
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customers ensuring there are no barriers to timely payment of open balances
  • Generate, analyze and monitor data to identify positive and negative trends, taking corrective action wherever needed
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and other functional groups at all levels including executive decision makers
  • Perform timely reconciliation, research, analysis and decisioning of deductions and disputed items, short/over-payments. Negotiate disputes to resolution and document root cause/s
  • Identify and resolve order-to-cash root cause issues that impede invoicing, collections and dispute resolution. Includes initiating and driving cross functional resolutions
  • Participate in major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives
  • Keep management apprised of unusual or non-standard issues and escalate when appropriate
  • Initiate and maintain complete, accurate and updated records of contacts, collection activities and account reconciliations 
  • Participate with driving results to meet individual, team and department objectives
  • Follow and enforce proper accounting and controls methods, policies and principles at all times.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Credit Controller if your background includes:
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Credit Control/Accounts Receivable/Customer Service position
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Working knowledge of accounting controls
  • Moderate Excel skills: pivot tables, v-lookups, formula building and sorting of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar. Ability to articulate a position clearly and succinctly with persuasion and respect to anyone at any level
  • Strong organization and attention to detail without losing focus of the “big picture”
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thriving in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with the ability to stay focused and manage time to ensure that goals are consistently met or exceeded
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in SaaS industry would be a plus
